Il Ficodindia (Opuntia ficus-indica) è una pianta succulenta che appartiene alla Famiglia delle Cactaceae.
Il genere Opuntia è composto da circa 200 specie.
Il Fico d'India contrariamente al nome è originario del Messico ed e' stato introdotto in Europa dopo la scoperta del Nuovo Continente.
Opuntia ficus-indica (Indian Fig Opuntia) is a species of cactus and a long-domesticated crop plant important in agricultural economies throughout arid and semiarid parts of the world. Indian Fig Opuntia is grown primarily as a fruit crop, but also for the vegetable nopales and other uses. Most culinary references to the "prickly pear" are referring to this species.

Old Hawaiian Punch Fruit Snacks
I just discovered there's a change underway for Hawaiian Punch products, and Punchy himself. This is the outgoing version of Hawaiian Punch Fruit Snacks from 2010.
I'm sorry to report that this iconic design of Punchy is no more.
On a positive note, the flavors are still the same, and these are some of the BEST tasting fruit snacks I've ever had!

These Sloe fruits are from wild trees probably set by birds, they are never harvested but just left to nature.
An autumn treat for the many birds in the area.
